My husband and I sailed from Split to Dubrovnik on the Suzana, June 7 – 14 on a Travelzoo voucher deal. I've waited these weeks to write, to describe my true feelings rather than scribbling down the euphoria I felt immediately upon returning home. Well, those feelings have not faded--our trip was truly special, and I’d like to tell you why: 1. A clean and comfortable ship, an attentive and friendly staff, a picturesque itinerary. 2. Just the right combination of scheduled activities and "on your own time." 3. A languid, luxurious way to travel, a revelation for the uninitiated in small-ship sailing (like me) and the perfect way to experience the unhurried Croatian culture. Our picture-perfect experience was made possible because of our cruise manager, Nika. She is the ultimate host, a clear communicator, an expert on-the-fly problem solver, and above all, is unflappable. Of course, you want all these attributes in your cruise manager -- but the ONLY cruise manager I would ever want to travel with is Nika. In a word, she is phenomenal. I've spent my professional life in service operations, so I know first-hand what it takes to deliver a great experience, and you guys did that, perfectly.

"Excellent cruise, itinerary, vessel, personnel, food, and ESPECIALLY the cruise manager. Nika was nothing short of outstanding in every regard. Some suggestions: - offer non-sugar sweeteners for coffee (eg splenda, not just stevia). And earlier coffee availability - assure proper functioning of thermostat (ours did not work reliably) - drinks were overpriced - someone should oversee the volume of the party on the party boat parked next to ours in port. Woken up by loud laughter talking shouting at 1;30am. Hate to be a curmudgeon but it's a closely shared space on dock and there were presumably rules about a quiet time for sleeping... - I am troubled by the communication regarding tips. On the one hand, we received written notification that tips were voluntary, there was no obligation to tip etc etc and then you proceeded to tell us exactly how to tip, how much each person should receive etc. The total amount of tip suggested-expected was a LOT more than ""don't feel obligated"". The result is that we are guilted into having to tip, or feel bad about it. I get it that people work very hard on the boat and it would be nice to pay them more. My suggestion is to do what other tour groups I have been on do: put the cost of the expected or reasonable tip into the price of the excursion, and then make it clear that you have e dine so and be explicit that tipping is NOT expected. Then everyone gets what they deserve, we are not surprised by a hefty additional add-on at the end of the trip when the last impression of an otherwise spectacular week is the feeling of you wanting more money from us. Nika was wonderful! All the staff was so friendly and courteous- made you feel very welcome!

The cruise director & crew were friendly & flexible.That truly enhanced my enjoyment of this Croatian/Adriatic advenuture. The food aboard and stops were outstanding. It was paradise! I especially appreciated Filip's honoring every request & tolerance for my many questions--so nice. The only diappointment was a substitute tour guide in Hvar who was rather boring. Thank you
